Ash Yakisugi Vessel #1 of 8
Crafted from naturally fallen Ash sourced in the picturesque Ribble Valley,
After the bowl was turned it has been allowed to dry and naturally distort.
Once stabilized, it underwent the traditional Yakisugi process, it was a particularly precarious process on this piece as the fissures really pop out.
A stiff brush was then employed to burnish the grain, transforming it into a really tactile experience.
The piece has been finished with natural tung oil, imparting a soft sheen that highlights its unique textures and form.
